Allan and Amy- The Inn at St. John’s Plymouth

Amy and Allan were married at the Inn at St. Johns in Plymouth Michigan. The location is very grand and has a lot of history.  They opted for a “first look” which is always fun and romantic.  Ian and I had a great time taking their photos and sharing in their special day.  I absolutely love the photo of Amy and her mother getting ready for the ceremony.

January 20, 2010 - 7:17 pm Sue - WooHoo - new photos - awesome as usual. Love the one of the bride - she's like an angel - the silhouette of mom and the bride is mega meaningful. Your photos always say so much.

January 19, 2010 - 12:54 pm Neale Mason - Beautiful! Makes one forget it's January!

Amy and Stephen-Shepherd’s Hollow

Last weekend Ian and I photographed one of the most amazing wedding’s to date.  It was held at Shepherd’s Hollow in Clarkston. The venue was set in the middle of a million pine trees that you had to take bumpy little roads to get to. The reception was held in a Southern plantation style house with a huge wrap around porch. I was in love with the place. It was incredibly romantic. Amy’s dress was absolutely amazing and fit her perfectly. We had just as much fun as the guests.

Jennifer and Michael

Jennifer’s wedding was gorgeous. It was held at her Aunt and Uncle’s house on a beautiful property that had amazing fall colors as a backdrop. It was definitely one of the most romantic ceremonies I have ever been too.  Although it has been 10 years since our wedding every week it is nice to hear the different vows and be reminded of the sanctity of vows taken in marriage.  It never gets old for me and I do occasional tear up witnessing such an important event. Jennifer and Micheal could not stop staring at each other during the ceremony and was followed by super fun reception with family and friends dancing the night away in a heated tent lit with candles.  Post ID: 2239861-INO

Heather and Steve at Laurel Manor

Heather and Steve were married this weekend at Laurel Manor.  Heather looked gorgeous, like super model gorgeous.  Her dress was strapless and had a purple sash that matched her awesome strappy purple shoes.  They were both really easy going and were up for all my crazy picture ideas. I realized at the wedding that Steve’s mother was my nurse when I had Jack 6 years ago.  She was amazing and Ian and I were so grateful for how she helped us in the hospital.  I really love my job and I feel lucky to have been a part of Steve and Heather’s wedding day.   Here are some photos– it is obvious they are very much in love!  Post ID: 2239861-All

Michelle and Zac–Glen Oaks Country Club

When I met with Michelle to discuss her wedding she knew the Michigan-Michigan State game was on her wedding day but the actual time of the game had not been released.  Concerns over guests sneaking out to view the scores were discussed. However, it turned out to be a day game, so Michelle and Zac were able to watch the game while getting ready.  Their wedding was super fun, their friends were hilarious, and we were able to capture some great photos. Plus the sky was amazing.

In Frame Bride Magazine Launch Party

I am soooo excited and honored to be featured in a new Michigan wedding magazine called In Frame Bride.  The magazine is an awesome source of information for brides to be and the first edition lists the top 38 wedding photographers in the state.  There are so many talented photographers who I admire  that are featured in the magazine and I am in awe to be in the magazine with them.  There was a launch party on Tuesday at Mangiamo restaurant in Grand Rapids. It was well worth the two hour drive. Kristine Crawford, the editor, did an amazing job. Here are some photos from the party. I love the little cameras on the cake!

Phil and Jamie

On Saturday I had a the pleasure of photographing Phil and Jamie’s Wedding at Arbor Hills Church in Rochester. Jamie looked incredibly gorgeous and I was ecstatic she chose red sparkly strappy heels for her wedding shoes. Phil had planned a surprise gift for Jamie which they exchanged in private after the ceremony. When Phil proposed to Jamie he taped it on a hidden video camera and held the secret until their wedding day where he showed Jamie the DVD. There was tissue available for Phil and Jamie, but I have to admit I needed a little tissue too!
