Danielle Murphy Photojournal bio picture

Welcome to My Photojournal!

I thought it would be fun to document my journey in photography. I love making people happy with my photos and feel extremely lucky to have a job I truly love.  My goal is to make you feel comfortable in front of the camera by creating an environment that is fun and positive. Thank you for taking the time to view my site.

Jamie and Tara

Tara looked so beautiful and elegant in her gorgeous crystal beaded wedding gown and fuschia colored Kate Spade shoes. She really was stunning.  Ian and I had an awesome time with Jamie and Tara and their friends and family while touring downtown Brighton and taking fun wedding photos.   The day flew by and there were some great moments that we were able to capture. I had to include an ode to Tara’s Pink Kate Spade shoes,  I loved them. I really really loved them.

Andrew and Susan at Fox Hills

Susan looked so beautiful in her dress. She is a perfectly fit former Michigan State gymnast and has an amazing figure.  Andrew couldn’t take his eyes off her all night! The other star of the night was “Tucker” their cute little beagle dressed in a tux. SOOOOO cute!  The sunset was perfect for taking photos, and we had so much fun!

Brian and Kurstyn’s Inn at Bay Harbor Wedding

Destination weddings rock! I had the most amazing time in Petoskey at the Inn at Bay Harbor. The resort was AMAZING. Kurstyn and Brian did an awesome job planning every little detail of their wedding. It was romantic, beautiful, and unique.  You could really feel the love between friends and family. I will just let the photos speak for themselves.

June 30, 2010 - 3:44 pm Sue - Beautiful ..all of them, ..those ring shots are stunning. Perfect silhouette shot. It sparkles! So cool. And candid 'happy/laughing' shots always say so much. Happy day :)) You always so skillfully capture the beauty of a wedding. How great is that. Excellent job. Again. :)

Andrew and Emily at Millrace Pond in Northville

It’s been a crazy week. I just returned from shooting a wedding at the Inn at Bay Harbor which put me behind on my blog posts.  However I wanted to get these images of Andrew and Emily on the blog. I loved Emily’s look for this shoot. She is beautiful and sassy and was an expert in front of the camera. They both had fun unique ideas and the most important thing is we had fun! Emily and Andrew are getting married at one of my favorite venues—-The Royal Park hotel. It’s going to be gorgeous.

Krista and Eric at the Detroit Institute of Arts

Last week I photographed Krista and Eric at the DIA. I was super excited not only because Krista had impeccable fashion sense and loved shoes but she was so nice and easy going. I knew we were going to have fun. Eric, her Fiance works in North Dakota so they don’t see each other a lot which meant they were totally into each other and barely even paid attention to me.  Ok that is an exaggeration, but ahhhhh young new love makes me happy. Oh yeah and Krista has amazing legs, I have to mention them because I couldn’t get over how great they looked in her shoes. I cannot wait for their wedding!

June 12, 2010 - 5:42 am Anna - Love the legs shot!! Sooo hot! Finally wearing the shoes :)

June 11, 2010 - 7:31 pm Krista - We love them! And...we (or at least I) had so much fun. : ) You are awesome Danielle!

Brian and Kurstyn at the Ann Arbor Botanical Gardens

Kurstyn and Brian drove over an hour in the heavy rain to meet me for an engagement session at the Ann Arbor Botanical Gardens.  Despite the rain, they were both happy and fun. We had a great time and captured some amazing photos. I am soooooo excited for their wedding which is at the Inn at Bay Harbor in Petoskey. It’s one of the most beautiful hotels in the state.

June 9, 2010 - 3:59 am Neale Mason - They are all beautiful Danielle. There is something really vibrant and antique looking about the last one. Think the rain played a tiny part in that. Gorgeous!

June 1, 2010 - 8:40 pm Sue - They look like they belong in a magazine. Your photos always capture such meaningful moments. That is a beautiful thing.

June 1, 2010 - 8:55 am Kurstyn Miller - The pictures turned out beautifully! I wan't sure what to expect with the rain, but it almost seemed to enhance the color (although, I'm sure you had something to do with that as well:)). I can't wait for the wedding - the pictures will be amazing!!!!

Justin and Laurie at the Colony Club

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Justin and Laurie’s wedding at the Colony Club. It was crazy windy but the sun broke through a few times and we got some awesome photos. Laurie looked absolutely stunning— her dress was one of my favorites.  I shot the wedding with awesome photographer Nicole Haley. We had a great time at an amazing wedding.

Well I have one more child at home that is not married yet so I am hoping to hire you in the future!! I love the pictures of the kids and the flower/earrings picture is amazing.

May 10, 2010 - 3:17 pm Holly - OH man you are GOOD. These photos are awesome.

May 10, 2010 - 1:50 pm Sue - Oh my goodness - every photo is stunning. The quality of each one is ...wait, ..you ripped them out of a magazine, ..and posted them..plagiar-er! lol, I know better. These photos rank, true professionalism. AND... your photos always tell fairy tale like stories, ..I think that's specifically what will make you famous. Love them all - but the ear rings on the flower stem, something about that photo...wow. But all are stunning.

Detroit NACE, Table Top WOW!

Last week I attended the Table Top Wow event hosted by Detroit NACE (National Associations of Catering Executives). It was amazing eye candy for wedding consultants, designers, and photographers. I took a few photos of my favorite tables.

This table was inspired by Moulan Rouge, and was by Liz from Parsonage Flowers. I love love love the colors unique ideas.

This table was inspired by Shakespeare in Love, and was by Lia from Full Circle Events.  I loved the amazing little details and incredible center piece.
